repartition 4g Gizmo?

One of the Gizmo's recently purchased in a 4 pack seems to have a problem. Looking at it in XP Disk Manager, it has a 1.12 gb partition and a 2.61 gb partition. I can not delete the partitions to create a single one, and I can not Format the 2.61 partition. Any suggestions as to how to proceed? Thanks!

brand new flash drive- lost memory

I bought a 2 gig crucial flash drive so i can put movies on there and then play them on my xbox. i was able to put two movies on there and it worked no problem- but when i deleted one movie off of the flash drive, the movie was gone (which is good) but the memory never came back.

for example-

i put one movie on that was .5 gig of memory, and another on that was 1 gig.

i deleted the one gig off of the flash drive.

now i only have the .5 gig movie on the drive, and there is still only .5 gig of free space left.

please help me maybe i am deleting it wrong (just dragging file into the trash) but is there anyway i can just get the space back on my flash drive?

btw i am using a mac if that makes any difference

How to restore partition data without losing data on the USB drive

I have a 1Gb GIZMO Jr and have been using it for a couple of years with no problems. When I try to use it now it asks to be formatted. I have used TESTDISK and it cannot find any partition data (says no end mark) - the data is still there and I have used PHOTOREC to copy 2000 files off but without proper file names or directory structures and also my WORD files are not usable. (I use it on Windows Vista and XP machines)

my questions are::

How do I fix the USB so that I can access it again without losing the data that is already there? (Please explain what needs to be done and if you have any recommendations on how to do it).

If I cannot fix the USB, what data recovery software do you recommend?

Hello there,

I have just bought a 4GB Gizmo! with the intention of using it to speed up my computer via readyboost. However, this was before I saw the Jr. version, and the description specifically says that they are readyboost capable. I was wondering if the one I bought would also be capable even though it doesn't state it in the details.? (regardless of laptop specs).

Crucial 4GB USB Shows 75% full after photos sent to trash.

My Crucial had displayed photos (JDOD46B-00-500533146 Rev-T) (N12610). After sending everything to trash, Crucial continues to show 75% full. Nothing opens (displays) when I try to determine what is still occupying 75% of memory... I'm operating Apple MAC w/ Leopard. I need directions to erase all photo memory from my Crucial.

Gizmo Jnr 8gb not working

My 8bg Gizmo Jnr has stopped working. Each time I put it in the USB slot I get the message 'Please insert a disk into Removable Disk' It seems to be recognising it as a Removable Disk Drive. I have tried opening it and also formatting it but to no avail. Have tried it on varous computers using both Vista and XP operating systems but it fails to recognise it as a Gizmo Jnr. Any advice please.

I have a Gizmo Jr. 4gb flash drive. I loaded it up with pictures from my desktop - a Dell PC running on Windows XP. When I try to plug it into either one of our laptops - a newly purchased Macbook Pro or a year-old Gateway PC (Windows XP) - it is not recognized. Need help. Thanks. (I did plug it back into the desktop and it was seen and had all the pix still on it.)

Also I plugged a different flash drive (Verbatim) into the Gateway laptop and it was recognized successfully.

Good Morning:

My 8GB Crucial USB drive is no longer working. It's been like a champ since I bought it (2 months ago maybe), but now on three computers (2 Macs and a PC) when I insert the drive into the computer, there's no flashing blue light, and it's never mounted.

I think its dead.

How does one get a replacement from Crucial under warranty replacement?

Last year I had a Memorex flash drive that was temporarily lost. Unfortunately, it was also run over by a truck. I've still got it, but have been told by techs who have looked at it that its a lost cause except for professional data retrieval (minimum $200 job for data retrieval.)

I replaced it with a Crucial drive. Everything has been fine until this weekend, when the laundry was done and the jeans it was in were washed before I pulled out my keys (and the attached case I keep the drive in.) I figured this one was toast as well. I was wrong.

After going through both the washer and dryer, it still works without so much as a hiccup. Thank you folks for a quality product. It's not often I buy something so good that I register on a company forum just to rave about it. Again, thank you.

(And yes, I've backed up the data from the flash drive. I usually do at least once a month. Unfortunately, in the case of the old drive, it had been a busy month...)

Hi.

I love my little gizmo!, but after a recent OS migration to 64-bit Vista, the system looks for a driver and eventualy fails to do so, rendering the drive inaccessible. The drive functions on other machines(all 32-bit though). I have tried to blow away the partition and let Vista handle it, to no avail. Any ideas on this would be appreciated. Thaks in advance.

I have just bought a 4GB Crucial Gizmo USB drive.

WIndows XP wont recognise . It just appears as a USB mass storage device and I am prompted for the driver which of course I dont have.

Any ideas gratefully received!!

I recently purchased (2) 2 GB SD cards for use in Canon SD600 Camera. The manual says the camera was tested up to and including 2GB SD cards. I ran the new cards through the formatting procedure in the camera. After taking a few still shots and some video which I viewed in the camera playback mode, I tried to download to my computer. The new drive letter showed but it either asks for a disk to be installed or it says disk not formatted. When it asked if I wanted the computer to format the disk, a "YES" answer was followed by "This disk cannot be formatted". When right-clicking the drive icon and clicking Properties, it says File System RAW.

Both of the two cards act exactly the same. Please help.

New Crucial 8GB Gizmo worked for a few days and then failed to be recognized by the computer. Windows XP pro.

Device manager shows the yellow exclamation point next to the device with:

Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)

The flash drive works in other computers.

How do I fix the registry?

Problem with my memory card

My memory card does not seem to be working on my computer. I've tried to find the chat feature on the website, but Crucial has done a pretty good job in hiding it. It's not right that you have hold times of up to 30 minutes on the phone and then when you try to find the chat that's advertised during the hold time, nothing is available.
