Hi Ants,

I see you have contacted Customer Support to sort this out, which is the best thing to do. The two models take different types of memory so this has been changed for you.

Please let us know if you require further support.

Wrong memory sent

Hi, I ordered ddr2 pc5300 memory a few days ago for an Acer Aspire L100. The memory that arrived was pc6400 - the computer I tried installing it in would not boot. I've raised an RMA - 41016120 - and will return the kit to you. This order was for a customer of mine who now has to wait for the replacement to be sent out. Is there any possibility the process can be speeded up? Thanks in advance, Thurls

To cancel/change an order, first, check the status of your order to ensure that it has not already shipped. If a tracking number has NOT yet been assigned, you may be able to cancel/change your order using our Expert Online chat tool, or you can cancel/change it by calling us at one of the phone numbers listed below during business hours.

US: 800-336-8915 (U.S. and Canada only) or 208-363-5790
UK: 0800 013 0335 or +44 (0)1355 586100 outside the UK

If it is outside our business hours, we will likely be unable to cancel/change the order prior to it shipping. Please note that e-mail is NOT a good way to cancel your order; if we have a heavy influx of e-mails to answer, your order will very likely ship BEFORE we are able to read your e-mail and cancel your order.

If we are unable to stop your order before it ships, contact Customer Service for assistance in setting up a return.

How will my system warranty be affected?

Opening up your system and adding Crucial RAM should in NO WAY void your original warranty.

The Magnuson-Moss Act, enacted into law by the US Congress in 1975, protects consumers' right to use the products they want.

How does it work? In legal terms, the Act prohibits manufacturers from requiring consumers to use products or services from a particular manufacturer in order to keep their original product warranty valid. That means, in most cases, you don't have to upgrade with your system manufacturer's memory or memory from another manufacturer specified by your system manufacturer to maintain your system warranty.

In much simpler terms, you can add Crucial RAM and your system warranty will remain valid!

That's great news in more ways than one. Not only do you save money buying Crucial memory upgrades direct from the factory, you also get the same RAM that's built into today's leading machines.

Nearly every major computer manufacturer, including Dell, IBM, Gateway, Apple, and more, installs Micron memory as original equipment. Micron works closely with these manufacturers to create the highest-quality products for both their systems and yours. As a division of Micron, Crucial guarantees that the memory you buy will be 100 percent compatible with your system, or we'll refund the price of the incompatible module.

How to Contact Customer Service

Your best bet for finding a quick answer is to search our Forum, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Customer Service has limited hours of operation, but if you need to contact us, it's easy! Just click on the link below for your location, click "More contact options," and then select Customer Service to view our contact information.

US - www.crucial.com/contact
UK - www.crucial.com/uk/contact
EU - www.crucial.com/eu/contact

Note: Please do not use the "report abuse" feature to ask questions or request help. That feature is to be used for reporting abusive or incorrect posts, not to contact Customer Service.

READ ME FIRST: Warranty Guides and FAQs

We want all of our members to enjoy their experience in the Crucial forum community. Please bear in mind the following when asking for help:

1. Please do not post in all caps. This is unnecessary and makes the forums difficult to read.

2. Create new posts for your specific issue, unless a solution has been posted prior. (Use "search" function to find a solution that has already been posted. Do not change the subject headlines for other posts.)

3. Post a subject title that provides a clear indication of the problem you are experiencing. For example. posting something like "Major problem!! Look inside!" does not communicate anything about the issue you are facing.

4. Please provide the following information:

Make and model names of computer or motherboard. If you do not know this information, click on the following link to use our system scanner.

http://www.crucial.com/systemscanner/

When the scanner has finished, copy the URL from your browser's address bar and paste it into your post, so we can find the information.

Crucial Part Number. The one from the part, not the one from the scan result page (the two are different).

A detailed description of issue. Simply saying "part is not working" does not provide enough information to be able to give a detailed, helpful response.

Re: Shipment information

Hi dutsh,

I understand your concerns and I apologise if I was not clear.

We will ship your replacement order by UPS and there will be no shipping charge from us in the UK to you in Hungary (we cover this). As you are within the EU there also should not be any local duties applied when it arrives, however please check this with your local customs office to confirm for definite as this is something that is outwith our control.

I hope this helps.
