Re: Boot Fail

Update: I purchased a copy of Alsofts Disk Warrior and ran it where it found several errors on the machine mostly relating to the new Crucial memory inserted. Fixed same.

Now running perfectly, but a warning to everyone purchasing such memory, you will more than likely have to fork out a few quid on this program to rectify the inherent flaws.

Re: Boot Fail

The most common reason that an iMac refuses to boot when you install memory is that the parts are not fully seated, however that seems to have been solved now. :smileyhappy:

If you want to verify that the new memory is working properly, you can download and run the program Rember. Set it to test all your RAM, and run it at least 6-8 loops. If it throws errors, test the new modules one at a time, to determine which one of them it is that is causing the issues. Hardware problems are consistent, and if one of the modules is somehow not working right, the errors will return. Replacing the parts will take care of that.
