Are all the Crucial modules single-sided now? I talked to a representative from live-chat and she told me Crucial no longer offers double-sided modules..I guess I'll be getting some single-sided ones from my RMA. And they only lasted a year, when they were fresh from RMA.... I hope it still has something of value, since not many people like single-sided modules :/

this is due to technology trends. single sided dimms feature 8 chips dual feature 16. if the current technology in chip density is 64MB per chip and the company wants to offer a 1G dimm then they must put 16 chips to acheive this. 64x16=1024 there would be 8 chips on one side and 8 on the other making it dual sided. a 512MB stick with the same chips could be single sided. then say along comes 128MB density chips then the company could offer that same 1G stick using the newer chip but in single sided. 128x8=1024. but if they wanted to then offer a 2G stick then they would use the same 128MB chips but dual sided 128x16=2048. hope this clears things up.
