How can i check info of my memory

[ Edited ]

I was bought Crucial Balistrix tracer kit 4GB buss 800. They give me two rams and i don't know how to check infomation about it, the info which i want to know is how many chip is use for my memory (16 chips or 8 ) and two of them is really KIT ? (or they give me two random memory and say with me it is KIT?)

This is serial number i found on my 2 memory:

BL25664AL80A

and the serial i check by CPU-Z tool:

1. 7E14B26B

2. 8B076BFE

I searched in crucial's website and this is my memory

http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL25664AL80A

But, i recongize this is TWO SINGLE MEMORY, not a KIT that i want to buy . The KIT have serial number:

BL2KIT25664AL80A

http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?IMODULE=BL2KIT25664AL80A

Have i been tricked? The two single memory is the same KIT? (performance, look, stable etc...) and The two single memory (BL25664AL80A) can use instead KIT (BL2KIT25664AL80A)?

I so worry about that.

One more question, with this memory how many year warranty?

(sorry for my bad english)

Thanks for reading

Re: How can i check info of my memory

If your memory's packaging was two plastic packs wrapped in one paper cover, then you got a kit. A kit is essentially, two matched memory sticks, or a pair. The matched part just means that they are tested and adjusted to be identical. It does not mean they will have the same serial number. The BL2KIT identifier is probably just Crucial's code for the kit and is not the individual part number you will find on the parts. So, you most likely are fine and I seriously doubt that you've been tricked in anyway. Install your memory. Good luck on your upgrade!:smileyhappy:

Re: How can i check info of my memory

If I read your post right your wanting to know if the RAM is single or double sided ie 8 or 16 chips? just look. If there are chips on both sides its double, one side is single. If I misunderstood, sorry :smileytongue:
