I have a compaq presario v2000 , which does'nt boot with crucial micron MT16VDDF12864HG-265D2 I gig stick (blank screen, no beeps) Tried both slots. 256 sticks work fine. I'm award that my chipset does'nt support x128 memory density. So these modules should work? Right? Also updated my bios to the latest. Thanks.

This would be best answered by the Crucial reps directly, so if one of them doesn't reply on this thread Monday or Tuesday please send me a PM and I'll contact one of them and see if they'll stop in and advise you about this.
You can also always contact Crucial directly by phone and ask, contact information is linked in my signature.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues with your memory upgrade. I have checked and this system does support DDR PC2700 speed memory and it does actually support 128meg memory density.
If the memory module does not work on it's own then I would suggest that the module itself is faulty and you would have to return it to your retailer. As it's not Crucial memory we cannot arrange an exchange for you, it's Micron memory which means you would have to contact the person you ordered the memory from to arrange an exchange.
The 1GB Crucial module that's compatible with this system can be found HERE.

Thanks for stopping in Junket!
Odd to hear Crucial not supporting Micron, why is that - is it just because Micron is mainly directed towards OEM's or something like that?

Micron parts are sold direct to OEM clients and not through Crucial directly, we are more than happy to give advice if there are any issues but we would be unable to replace them if the part becomes faulty.

Thanks Junket, I thought that might be why you said that. But had to ask to be sure because it soundeda little odd to me I guess
Let us know how the new module works out for you Rootchy!
