First thing to do is to check that the memory is compatible with your system.
If you have ordered the memory direct against your system after using the Memory Advisor or Crucial System Scanner tool, then move on to the next step. Otherwise, you can run the Crucial System Scanner to ensure that the modules you have match the specifications of the memory we recommend. If you are unsure contact customer support.
The next steps are to check if the memory modules themselves are the issue.
To check if the memory is causing the problem, please try each new memory module on its own, one at a time, in the system.
If a memory module is not working on its own, ensure it is fully seated in the slot. In a laptop, no more than 1mm of the gold connector pins should be visible. A desktop can take up to 30lb of pressure for memory to be installed correctly.
