Saved on Microsoft but want to open in Mac

Hello - I have a Dell computer that is on its last legs but one of the last times it worked I plugged in my Crucial USB Flash Drive for the first time and as far as I could tell I copied my picture files and email files to the flash drive.  Now I was wondering if there is any way I can download the pictures, at least, from the USB to my MacBook.  I tried plugging in the USB but I don't get very far even though I can see folders with what I assume are the picture files.  The file ends .dml and Mac doesn't recognize the format and takes me to a screen to pick an application.  Nothing I've tried seems to work.  Am I trying to do something that is impossible?  Thanks.

Re: Saved on Microsoft but want to open in Mac

Unfortunately you may be attempting something impossible. The file extension .dml belongs to files created by Dmailer software, an application that does not run under the Mac OS.

I would suggest plugging the drive into a Windows PC again, convert the files to extensions easily recognized by OSX, and then move them to your MacBook.
