Greetings.
I have a Compaq Presario 7360 (about 10 years old, got it second hand, runs nicely). I've got a single 128MB RAM strip in it. I got two 256MB strips at a computer supply store and installed them. All I got was a rolling monitor screen. I immediately took the computer to a repair shop. Two guys worked on it, trying to get the computer to boot up with the new RAM. The computer would do a RAM test and recognize the new strips either one at a time or together, but wouldn't find the hard drive. The original 128 is back in place and I'm running again. The techs said they've never seen this problem unless the memory was simply the wrong kind. The computer store owner assures me it is the right kind.
The original memory strip reads: 128MB PC133 SDRAM Reorder P1537-63001.
The replacements read: KVR133X64C3/256 256MB PC133 DIMM CL3.
Suggestions? Thank you.

Never mind. I found out what the problem was.
