Hi,
I recently bought a 2nd hand computer with 2 x M225 64GB SSDs. One of them had Windows 7 RC 7100 installed on it so I bought a new retail copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64Bit and have tried to install it.
I went through then install process and selected "Custom Install" and formatted both drives - or so I thought. Now when I boot up the BIOS brings up an Operating System selecting page and shows 2 versions of Windows 7 in a list. If I select the first option it takes me to my new install, no problem. If however I select the other option it brings up an error message saying something along the lines of cannot find x file, please restart.
Once in Windows, the drive (which I didn't install Windows on) seems clean - No files, just free space. The only thing I can think of is that there must be some trace of the previous installation remaining on the other drive (where my new install is). Does anyone know of any tool that could completely format the drive before installation? Or do you think it is a problem with the BIOS?
Info:
Firmware 1571
Gigabyte UDS (F7 BIOS)
Non-RAIDed
Thanks for any advice.

If the drive is indeed clean and it's only the OS choice menu bugging you then you can turn it off as follows:
Right click My Computer and choose Properties
Click Advanced System Settings
Click Settings under the Startup and Recovery group
Make sure the default operating system is the correct one and untick Time to display list of operating systems
OK all the open screens

Thanks for your reply.
Is this Operating System selection page part of Windows? If so, would you advise trying the installation again or perhaps the "Repair My Computer" option? Something is obviously not 100% right.
Thanks

Same thing happened to me when I installed to a drive I'd manually removed XP from and I just deleted the menu entry myself. And yes it's part of Windows.
