Re: Crucial Wiper tool now available in the forum

The wiper tool appears to run fine, take 3 to 4 minutes to complete.

But I always end up with a zero size wiper.dat file.

Is this normal? I was under the impression this was meant to grow in size with information of what is to be trimmed.

It shrinks the file back to 0 but doesn;t delete it at the end for some reason. If you check My Computer while it's doing its thing you'll have very little free space.

Re: Crucial Wiper tool now available in the forum

Running Windows 7 Ultimate X64, and the wiper tool does not seem to recognize any drive. Running in AHCI mode, and compatibility mode causes a blue screen. Also, running the Win7x32 DVD doesn't work as it recognizes the installed OS as x64. Used 90GB out of 256GB, and I'm getting very poor performance (~75MBps). Running firmware 1819.

You have to run it from an administrative command prompt or right click it and run as administrator or it acts like it doesn't recognise the drive.

Hi, could someone please post a link to the Crucial Wiper.exe tool with instructions on how to use it as I cannot find a download link on this site.

Thank You

Bottom of the first post of this thread has it listed under attachments. :smileyhappy:  It's pretty easy to use - run it with admin privileges and press 'y' a couple of times when prompted.

No, actually it was not. If it was run in Administrator mode it would say "Administrator:" before the path on the titlebar

Re: Crucial Wiper tool now available in the forum

Hi,

I'm seeking help with using the Wiper tool - i'm using it on a 64GB drive.

Like others I have the problem where it takes an hour to complete 1% - does anyone know a fix or work around for this please?

I don't have a RAID setup; running the wiper tool from a Windows XP instillation on a 2nd HD.

Thanks :smileyhappy:
