I have raised this question a few times now but there has been no response. I have a M225 and a vertex in raid, the Vertex on 1.41 firmware and the Crucial on 1819. The Vertex has GC, the Crucial has not, which means splitting and all that goes with it weekly to restore the performance on the crucial, (I have got used to the speed with a clean drive).
All I expected was a response, possibly positive and that it was being worked on, or no we are not, which would enable me to decide what to do, instead nothing. As a single drive the M225 is great, but what about all those with raid? Even news on drivers would be nice, I feel sure Crucial would have more clout contacting Microsoft or Intel than any of those on the forum, so how about it? Info please.

Sonicboss,
Can you please link to that post if you can find it again. If it truly answers our question, then I can stop bumping :-).
Thanks!

Thanks targetbsp,
It was an odd place to respond to this question, but at least there's some feedback. I'll await the update from Crucial_Mahmood.

There's a program on OCZ's forum called AS Clean which I assume is by the guy that did AS SSD though it's not on his website yet so I can't link it. It's a free space wiper they say works with raid. I can confirm it works faster through the raid drivers on a single disk taking 30 mins to complete against wipers 8 hours.
But it totally destroyed by read and write performance (down to 60/10) and I had to do a wiper to recover it. So I wouldn't recommend it unless you're the experimental type! Having said that, after following that guide and then running wiper my drive was restored to maximum performance - but that won't help you guys as you can't run wiper.
The basic procedure is to download Perfectdisk 10, which is a new version - apparently SSD friendly. I assume this just means it writes as little as possible to the disk though obviously a defrag cannot do its job without writing a fair amount of data. You then get Perfectdisk to perform an aggressive consolidate free space defrag on the SSD. You follow this up with AS Cleaner making sure that Check FF's is ticked.
While it didn't work as intended for me my post above serves 2 purposes.
1) it brings the latest ideas to you guys attention in case you want to experiment with something new. I know a few guys here have reinstalled Windows more than once playing about with new potential ways to speed things up. Well here's a new toy for you!
2) it alerts the unsuspecting that may have seen it themselves to maybe hold off a few days while the braver try it out. ![]()
