I had the same hanging issue you are where during windows 7 load up at the flag logo it would sit for a minute or so.  For some reason it has to do wtih the sata 2.0 connections set to ahci.  If you change the sata 2.0 to IDE it should resolve the hanging issue on windows 7.   Also you are right it does not have anything to do with the SSD.

The motherboard I have is a gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3

Dunno if it's relevant here but a bug in the Intel drivers 10 or later causes Windows to hang on the logo if you have certain pioneer dvd drives.  9.6 works fine.

Update went fine, wrote to a CDRW and booted to BIOS, changed to IDE and rebooted from CD, updated to 0007, all done in a couple of minute (Asus P8P67 Pro, i72600K, 8GB Ripjaw). I still get Windows 7 hanging on boot for 30-60 seconds (timeouts) but I'm not sure this is a fault of the C300 or Windows, I guess a Secure Erase and re-install of Windows is the next step.

I have very low 4K readings but they were even lower on F/W 0006 and my WEI has dropped from 7.9 to 7.5

My WEI went from 6.0 to 7.4 with the update from 0006 to 0007. Your AS SSD Benchmark score is also very much higher so I think you should count your blessings. My system boots so fast and is so much more responsive that I'm on cloud 9 about the new firmware update. Good luck with the re-install!

My experience with the upgrade (6 to 7) on 2x C300 256GBs RAID 0 was a minor improvement which could be a margin of error.  I run on the latest IRST 10.5.0.1022.

Alright guys the firmware update went smoothly as well.  Took about 2mins.  Here are the before (revision 006), and after (revision 007) results.  It seems like i'm getting nowhere close to the results you guys are getting.  My 4k-64 read times went down with the new revision.  Any suggestions on how to get the 4k-64 read speeds up?  I'm running Asrock extreme 3 motherboard with ACHI on, intel 930 2.8ghz, win 7 64bit (7.9WEI), all my drivers are up to date.  Alos this is with no active programs running.  AS SSD benchmark was the first thing i opened right at boot.
