SSD Firmware Update Successful?

HI,

I have 2 CT128M225.  The first one I updated the firmware to 1819 and it said the update was successful.

However, when I did the second one, the update took significantly longer, and at the end the updater says the firmware update has failed.  Interestingly, when I rebooted and run the updater again, it is now reporting the firmware as 1819.

I wanted to know how can I verify if the firmware has indeed been updated?  The drive seems to work correctly.

Re: SSD Firmware Update Successful?

Hi swmagazine,

The following thread shows you how to check which version of firmware your drive has:

Do you know what version of FW was on each of the drives before the update?  It is possible that the second one had the 1711 FW and the downgrade was not performed before the upgrade causing the delay and error.  I think a few others did this by mistake but their drives are also working fine now.

Re: SSD Firmware Update Successful?

I went straight from 15** to 1819, using a flash drive, and mine had the same error on update. The os reports it as 1819, but i've got crippling read and write speeds, 90/30 respectively. My HDD's are faster at writing, the same on reading.

It makes you wonder if it really did update correctly. I have tried again since using the cd method, same result.
