SSD speed disappointed!

[ Edited ]

I have much lower speed than benchmark. I do not know why. Is there something wrong with my setting?

I have a Lenovo Thinkpad X60t with Window 7 Pro.

M225 128GB.

Re: SSD speed disappointed!

From a quick google the X60T is a 3 year old design and only supports sata 1 which has a maximum speed of 150mb so the laptop itself is limiting the top end speed.  The zero seek time should still make it a lot faster in real world use than whatever hard disk you had before though.

Your sequential write is still faster than mine 129 vs 100 mb/s on the 128gb m225. :smileyindifferent: With my q9650 and p45.

So no solution to increase the speed except changing a new computer?

Re: SSD speed disappointed!

That PC simply cannot run a disk faster than 150mb/sec full stop so essentially yes - you'd need a newer computer to reach the drives stated 250mb/sec.  If it's faster plugged in than running on battery then you might gain a bit by playing with your power profile options.

I wouldn't think you're gonna spend a lot of time doing high sequential file transfers on a laptop anyway though so you should still be gaining massive benefit from the 0 seek time and small file transfer speeds?
