I'd rather have them test it a few days more, then to upgrade my drive with faulty firmware again

be patient guys, it will be out, in the meantime get your dvd's and stuff ready so you can format the drive and start over. with the installations of your os, apps etc.

done that twice already after getting my M225, so I think I will just take a partition image this time. reinstalling everything takes far too long, even on an SSD.

whats the most reliable image/harddisk cloner?

i have had bad experiences with invalid images.

Most people use either Acronis True Image or Paragon Drive Backup (free version here). With which software did you have problems?

I use Acronis for backing up folder and files, but for imaging I use Shadowprotect, never let me down yet. I had a problem with Acronis 9 trying to restore an image of the system drive, and all Acronis could say was I needed to upgrade to the next level, so I as I needed solid reliable images, I searched the web and came up with Shadowprotect. You can mount an image, alter it or virus check it, and save the changes, pretty good software.

I just use Windows 7's backup tool. Makes a complete system image, and can be scheduled for complete hands-off backup work.

You would presumably need something that can do a restore from dos using a recovery bootable CD or similar. Can any or all of them do that?
