I need access to any firmware reset tool even the problematic for windows 64bit version.
I have moved the drive from a asus pt6 v2 to another system and the drive is not able to be used with the bios reporting the drive is locked as it needs a master password.
If any one has the previously available firmware I think its 15xx or 17xx can you please email me or post a follow up.
*removed email address*
This is very urgent for me.

After the 1711 firmware failure it's most likely they are gonna test this firmaware a little more than they might normally have. Even if they call it a beta version, tons of people are still gonna download it and complain when they find an error in it. We can't really expect to have the new firmware the same day other companies like ocz release their version, The crucial ssds were alot cheaper and you usually get what you pay for..

Get what we paid for? lol ???
Same controller, same memory.. did we not purchase the OCZ label ?
Not to 'bash' OCZ but I honestly felt a LOT more comfortable purchasing a drive from Crucial than OCZ. Read their forums sometimes and it is almost down right scary all the RMA that goes on.

Well, if you're looking for an "explanation" as to the lack of responses from the mods/crucial, most of us here need to remember who we are, and where we come from.
Come on now. Except for a small number of drives that shipped with or installed 1711 firmware, And there are clear steps to work around even those drives.
1. If you are USING an SSD that is AFFECTED by this firmware, you are pretty much by definition ALSO using Windows 7. Um.. Have we forgotten? The only ones of us supposed to be using windows 7 so fare are the microsoft TESTING and DEVELOPMENT groups, or prebuilding systems for distributions to other users. If so you should DARN WELL be used to inadequacies and work arounds. If not, maybe you dont belong in this "select group" that have pre-release copies from microsoft?
2. Even IF the above did not apply there is/are simple work arounds to live with this drive. And, quite seriously, would you really swap it out? The blasted thing is "unreasonably fast" even IF you know nothing of this shortfall. You are playing with bleeding edge technology, both Windows 7 and these drives. That is why they cost so much. Remember that and take a patience pill.
A friend of mine once told me. You have 3 choices in software/hardware development. Fast, Cheap, and Quality. PICK TWO. You can NOT have all three. One of the three always affects the other two. I for one applaude crucial for choosing Cheap and Quality. I will await their firmware patiently all the while enjoying this amazing bit of technology.
Back to the first sentence. Go back read this thread from start to finish. And then ask youselves, if you were crucial would you WANT to give more feedback than they have? As I said, if you're affected by this you should be in a select group of people. And as part of that group, i ask again, would you not want YOUR customers to be more understanding and tolerant?
Oh well. Given my experience ... its till gonna be.. "Let the flaming continue."

Fair enough, sfaure, but the fact is that OCZ has already posted firmware and Crucial has not. We are just asking for a reasonable ETA, because in case you didn't read the last post by Katana, the firmware is ready and tested with no serious issues. It is only awaiting validation, therefore, any update on the process of the validation is helpful - considering many of us have the drive sitting on our desks waiting to install our OSs without having to erase everything and reinstall a week from now. K thx
And for the record, we didn't ask for your opinion, we asked for a new ETA from the techs

And I tried to give you a reason why they might be reluctant to jump out there with another forecast......
And yes.. I DID read ALL of this thread, including all the comments AFTER her post.
