I am having some issues with the wiper tools,
for 3 months I am no vista/win7 and decided to give a go on the wiper tool but it takes like 1 hour to get to 1%, I looked throught the forum but can't find a reason to this. I am using a Asus n51 laptop with default win7 configuration
After seeing that most people seem toot hink that this is not a good idea to upgrade to 1819 firmware I decided to stay on 1571 for a little while..

in encountered similar issues with the drive. Finally gave up, went to dinner and let it finish.. Subsequent runs seemed to be much better. I came to the consulsion that its somewhat like the "fragmentation" of regular hard drives. If you let it get really badly fragmented it will take a LONG time.
There is also something being discussed about the free space consolidation contributing to this over all. See the thread about "improving peformance" and fetch up the defrag (free space consolidation) toools.
I finnally worked around all this by doing a "secureerase" of the drive. it has since run very well both using trim, and not using trim.
I also wonder about the prudence of running vista AND windows 7 if you're going to use trim (vist doesnt support it at all). Under vista you would be leaving "un-trimmed" blocks out there. Even though its using different partitions the wear-leveling of the drive is going to use relatively unused memory cells. And well.. you would have some trimmed and some not....

Mine is the same using Intel Matrix drivers in raid mode (but no raid drives). If i run it from a bart pe disc having switched the bios to IDE it takes only about 5 minutes. If you don't know what a Bart PE disc is, you can probably do it from the Windows recovery console too from the Windows setup disc. Remember to switch your bios back from IDE to whatever it was changed from after the wiper otherwise Windows won't boot.

what I meant is that I upgraded from vista to win7 without formatting,
I already desactivate trim, I will try a couple of things you guys said, what is secureerase?

I think sfaure might have meant sanitary erase? Which is a tool to totally wipe the ssd's restoring them to their factory condition. Never used it myself so I can't comment further!

Yes target is right. Sanity erase. It completely erases teh drive, and was the only way i could get one of my ssd's to return to performance.
