Those seem solid numbers for sata ll.
You will want to flash to the new FW.

^^^ thx for the reply i didnt know if 0309 was the latest FW or not being
new to this .
is the old way for opimizing ssd still the way to go like disabling defrag , prefetch , indexing , sys restore and
limiting writes to the drive ? or is it just leave it like a standerd HD and let the OS do all the work .
all of the optimizing stuff i find for ssd is old news for the most part .

Defrtag should be disabled but Windows should do that for you. The rest should be left alone, these modern drives last decades with no special effort made to reduce writes.

well i had to turn dfrag off , i also turned the indexing and prefetch off because thats what crucial said to do in knowledge
base for any problems , so i thoght i would anyway lol .
tech optimizing news or any news is tough to get reliable sense it changes so rapidly, one day its a necessity the next
FW update (which could be the next day) its no longer a necessity, so thats why its simpler to just ask in case its out of date .
thx again .

When I say Windows will turn defrag off, what I mean is it will remove the SSD from the scheduler. It won't actually disable defrag in case you want to defrag mechnical drives.
Indexing is now considered beneficial. It will speed file searches and if you have Outlook it will greatly speed email searches (and possibly in other email clients?)
Prefetching doesn't make much noticeable different either way as far as I can tell.

Just to add, you are correct Targetbsp, if you disable that it does also affect other email clients. I use windows love mail desktop, and with search or indexing disabled you cannot search through your emails - except by title which is terrible!
So having it enabled not only speeds up email searches, it also allows the search to look through the actual email not just the title.
