ADDITIONAL MEMORY FOR EVESHAM MOTHERBOARD

An easy query, I think!   I have 512mb currently installed on my Evesham 6100M2MA (purchased 2006) and want to add another module of the same size and type, in readiness for switching later to Windows 7.  The installed module is listed in the scan as DDR PC2-5300.  Is this specific type still available, or if not what is the current compatible version?

Re: ADDITIONAL MEMORY FOR EVESHAM MOTHERBOARD

Hi Linhomme,

From what I can find on this system, it can support up to 8GB of DDR2 PC2-5300 over four slots.  This memory is still readily available.  Although Win7 does not have the same increased memory requirements that Vista did, it will still run more effectively off more RAM so you may want to consider a larger upgrade than 512MB as it would also be more cost effective in the long run.

You can find compatible 512MB and 1GB parts at the links below,  Be sure to use the correct store link for your location:

1GB

US Store

Your system can also support 2GB parts, you can do a search for part number CT25664AA667 on the site if you are interested in this.

I hope this helps!
