I've got an old Compaq EVO D510 (D51S on the label) and I want more memory for it. I find excellent trusted sites such as EDGE and find the required memory listed as PC 2100. Then I find excellent trusted site such as Crucial.com and find it listed as PC2700 !!
Now which is it? anyone know? I tried Compaq's site but didn't really get anywhere.
regards,

PC2100 has been discontinued, which is why you can't find it on our website. However, since DDR memory is designed to be backward-compatible you can safely add PC2700 faster memory to your PC2100 computer. The parts will clock themselves down to the system speed and run as if they were PC2100.
I hope that cleared things up! ![]()
