Hi,
I have an issue where i get the following blue screen message:
***Hardware Malfunction
Call your hardware vendor for support
NMI: Parity Check / Memory Parity Error
*** The system has halted***
Has anyone seen this message before and know how to fix it?
Thanks.
Lee.

Hi Lee,
Sorry to hear you are having problems with your upgrade. The first thing we need to do is make sure you have the compatible memory.
Could you please confirm which model of laptop you have and the full CT part number from the Crucial label? Also, tell us a bit about the original memory; size, speed etc.
Once we know a bit more we can troubleshoot this further.
Thanks

Hi, apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
My system is a Lenovo ThinkPad R60, it originally shipped with 1024MB of DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM and according to your scanner it says that "Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot".
Is the CT number the same as the one written on the static bag the memory came in? As I don't have the little screw driver to remove the panel covering the memory.
If so the number is: CT25564AC667.16FE
Thanks for getting back to me.
Regards.
Lee.

Also, one thing I have noticed is that it seems to happen much more frequently when videos play but it isn't exclusively when they are on.
Regards.
Lee.

Lee,
I am sorry it took a while before you received a response to your posts, and I apologize for the delay. After looking up the part and the system, I think the easiest solution for you would be to simply replace the memory module, since the hardware errors started after you installed it. Our Customer Support department can take care of that for you.
Be sure to use the proper link for your location, and reference this thread so they can see the troubleshooting you have done.
