Hello I am new and hope I have placed this message in the right area.
I was given this site for help from CFB and ran the scan on my PC as I am very low on RAM.
My scan said that I needed to add more information but can not find the manufacture information.
My PC was made for me and so that is why I can not find it since there is no name on the outside of it.
I can tell you that the scan I did showed me this much:
- Maximum Memory Capacity: 4194304 MB
- Currently Installed Memory: 768 MB
- Available Memory Slots: 1
- Total Memory Slots: 4
- Dual Channel Support: N.A.
- CPU Manufacturer: CentaurHauls
- CPU Family: VIA Samuel 2 Model 7, Stepping 3
CPU Speed: 796 MHz
And my friend from CFB explained to me that I needed much more ram for XP then what I have and suggested I try for 2 GB total.
Thanks, Diane

The problem locating your system may stem from your system being past the End of Life for that particular PC. You've got an 800 MHz CPU (I'm betting a PIII). You can still find the memory and a Crucial Moderator may have to assist you further by cross referencing your chipset. But ultimately, the question I have for you is what type of computing are you doing and why did you decide to upgrade your memory?! If you really haven't needed to upgrade your system because you're only using it for stuff like email and internet, then you are probably looking to upgrade because it's taking you a while to load pages and download. If this is true, then you should know that you may need more processing ability as well as more memory. Maybe a full system upgrade. Prices on some PC systems have dropped drastically in the last few months and may continue to keep going down. The price you may have to pay for memory that works on your system maybe right at the level where it may be more beneficial to you to just purchase a new system for a small amount more. I've seen several companies coming out with sub $350 US PCs. These PCs are going to have much nicer hardware and tons of new features that just the cost of your memory may justify looking to upgrade your whole system. Good luck!

Thank you for your time and I will take this information and think on it.
Rather to try for more RAM or a new system.
Diane
