RMA Assistance Please

I recently submitted and recieved my RMA number. The only problem is, the item I linked to the RMA is slightly different than the item number I should have given. I bought the RAM as a kit, and copied the number from the actual sticker on the module, so that product number is for the individual sticks. However I did put I put in the description that this is a kit. I have also mis-placed the original plastic packaging for the kit.. Am I still okay to ship the RMA?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: RMA Assistance Please

The number for the individual modules is actually the number we want, since the kit number sometimes varies between different retailers and online vendors. As long as you made it clear that it is a kit, the RMA will have been created for the two, and they will both be replaced.

If you no longer have the original packaging you can either use the packaging from the replacement parts if you do an advance replacement, or you can use any other anti-static packaging you have available. As long as the memory is protected in transit, the original packaging is not strictly necessary.

Re: RMA Assistance Please

Cool, thanks a bunch. What is the average turn-around time? Also, would I be able to get a different set as a replacement? For example, I have the red Tracers, would it be possible to get the cheaper black ones that have the differently colored LEDs as these are known to go bad less? Or has there been any specific changes in batches to try to prevent failure?

Thank you!

Re: RMA Assistance Please

The average turn-around for a standard RMA is about a week and a half.

For any changes to the RMA and to the replacement order I would recommend that you contact Customer Service to discuss the options with them directly
